The Quantum Materials and Nanophotonics Laboratory hosted our international collaborators Prof. Sotirios Baskoutas (University of Patras, Greece) and Prof. Zaiping Zeng (Henan University, China)

During their visit, the guests also met with the Director of the Institute, Seyran Minasyan, and other colleagues to discuss prospects for future collaboration.

Our laboratory has maintained a long-standing and productive collaboration with Sotirios Baskoutas. In particular:

  • our young researcher Sargis Gavalajyan is pursuing a joint PhD under the co-supervision of Prof. Baskoutas;
  • Sargis Gavalajyan and Narek Yengibaryan completed a 9-month research internship in his group, funded through projects of the RA Science Committee.

With Zaiping Zeng, we have co-authored several publications in reputable international scientific journals.

This year, our young researchers have applied to the Remote Laboratory Establishment Program 2026, where Prof. Baskoutas and Prof. Zeng are expected to serve as Principal Investigators.

Such visits play an important role in strengthening international scientific cooperation, promoting academic exchange, and fostering new research initiatives.
