Spark Plasma Sintering equipment - KCE®-FCT HP D 10-SD (FCT Systeme GmbH, Germany)
Description: The system is an advanced field-assisted sintering (FAST/SPS) instrument designed for the rapid densification of powders using simultaneous application of uniaxial pressure and pulsed direct electric current. During sintering, the electric current passes directly through the graphite tooling (and conductive samples), generating rapid Joule heating and enabling heating rates and cycle times significantly shorter than those of conventional hot pressing. The SPS process allows consolidation at lower temperatures and pressures, minimizing grain growth while producing dense materials with controlled microstructures. The system is suitable for processing ceramics, composites, functionally graded materials, intermetallics, hard metals, and nanostructured materials.
