Institute of Chemical Physics NAS RA

Since its foundation, the Institute has been conducting intensive and effective research on the theory of chemical transformation, kinetics, and the mechanism of chain, fre-radical reactions, including combustion and ignition processes in the gas and condensed phases.

Scientific Activity of the Institute

Theory of chemical transformations, complex and elementary reactions of free radicals, combustion and explosion processes in gases and condensed phases, modeling and control of chemical and combustion processes, quantum-chemical analysis of atomic groups and molecular structures; catalytic processes, photocatalysis, biocatalysis, nanocatalysis, heterophase physicochemical processes, obtaining of inorganic compounds and composites under the combustion mode by the self-propagating high-temperature synthesis method, development of production technologies of refractory materials, biocompatible compounds and composites, nanostructured and liquid-crystal systems, sensory films and detectors, examination of properties of those materials, nanophotonics, quantum compounds, theoretical chemistry (quantum-converted gases, quantum transitions), chemical safety problems of the environment.
